Bedfordshire & Luton Community Foundation
Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation (BLCF) is an independent local charity dedicated to creating long-lasting, positive change across Bedfordshire and Luton. Guided by eight core values—ranging from “Ready to Challenge” and “Embrace Risk Taking” to “Locally Focused” and “Reflect and Represent”—BLCF uses its deep local knowledge and strong partnerships to address urgent social needs. The Foundation channels its “Always Accountable” ethos by collaborating transparently with funders, community groups, and other stakeholders, ensuring their investments and collective efforts make a meaningful, sustainable impact. By remaining “Ever Curious,” the charity continually refines its understanding of emerging local issues, allowing it to deliver the most relevant support and “Deliver Lasting Change” for individuals and communities.
In the past year alone, BLCF distributed over £4.7 million in grants to nearly 300 small charities, reaching more than 260,000 individuals. During the pandemic, they rapidly set up emergency COVID funding while also offering advice and guidance to frontline groups. As the community emerges from the crisis, BLCF emphasizes forging even stronger relationships with local businesses that value corporate social responsibility. This collaborative approach protects and grows critical charitable services for those most vulnerable, helping shape a more resilient and optimistic future for the region.
